Privacy Policy

Last updated: 06/17/2026

This policy explains what Cost Pilot collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Cost Pilot website or application, you agree to this policy. Cost Pilot is operated by Cost Pilot, LLC (“we,” “us”).

The short version: we collect what we need to verify eligibility, run your account, and power Cost Pilot’s identification and pricing features. We do not sell your personal information, and Cost Pilot only ever reads your own screen — never an auction platform’s servers or your marketplace account.

1. Information we collect

  • Application: email, seller profile name, username/handle, primary selling platform, a link to your store or profile, total items sold, and basic technical data (IP address, browser, timestamp).
  • Account & sign-in: your email and a securely hashed password (never stored in plain text). Your license is tied to your device.
  • Subscription & purchases: plan, status, and Miles usage. Payments are handled by our processor; we do not see or store your full card details.
  • Product usage: items Cost Pilot identifies, sold prices it reads, your settings and lists, and Miles consumed.
  • Screen content during use: Cost Pilot reads a screen region you select during live shows; those images are sent to AI providers to identify items and read sold prices. If you enable audio, short clips are transcribed. We capture only what is needed to provide the service.

2. How we use it

To evaluate and verify eligibility, create and secure your account, provide the identification and pricing features, process payments and Miles, contact you about access and your account, and improve accuracy and reliability. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers we share with

We share limited data with providers who help operate Cost Pilot, only as needed: AI model providers for identification, sold-price reading, and the optional opinion model (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, and Mistral/Venice); OpenAI (Whisper) for optional audio transcription; our payment processor and store for billing; and our hosting and email providers for the service and account messages. These providers process data under their own terms. We share the minimum necessary and never sell your data to advertisers.

4. Screen, automation & marketplace stance

Cost Pilot is a passive data feed. It never logs into, bids on, clicks, types in, or scrapes any auction platform, and it only reads your own screen. We do not collect a marketplace’s data on your behalf or access your marketplace account.

5. Data retention

We keep application and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal and financial obligations. Images sent for identification are used to produce a result and are not retained as a long-term gallery. You may request deletion as described below.

6. Your choices & rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may close your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. Closing your account ends your access; see the Terms for how unused prepaid balances are handled.

7. Cookies

The Cost Pilot website uses essential cookies, and if enabled, basic analytics, to operate the site, store, and checkout. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Children

Cost Pilot is intended for sellers operating businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Cost Pilot evolves. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
